A North Dakota man has been charged with felony driving under the influence and assault on a peace officer after he allegedly kicked a sheriff's deputy following a traffic stop.
Neil Raymond Jung, of Minot, N.D., was arrested and taken to the Roosevelt County Jail on $25,000 bond after the March 15 incident.
Police said the incident occurred as a Roosevelt County Sheriff's deputy was traveling on U.S. Hwy. 2, by mile marker 612.
Police said a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction crossed the center line and forced the deputy to swerve off the road to avoid a collision.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jung, was found to be intoxicated, police said.
Police said Jung refused field sobriety tests and kicked an assisting officer that had arrived on the scene.
Police said it was discovered that Jung has prior DUI convictions, including a felony DUI conviction in Montana 15th Judicial District Court in Wolf Point.
