Wolf Point was well represented at the district music festival in Glasgow April 20-21.
All small groups and soloists with a “I” or superior rating will advance to the state music festival May 4-5 in Billings. Large groups are not eligible to compete at the state music festival.
Excellent or “II” ratings also are not eligible to participate at state music festival.
Accompanying the chorale students were Sharon Kolstad, Lynne Monson, the Swing Band.
Earning “I” ratings were the Wolf Point High School concert choir with Seal Lullaby and To Everything There is a Season; Women’s Chorus, Artist of a Winter Night and My True Love Has My Heart; Men’s Ensemble — Easton Copenhaver, Evan Guldborg, Broden Hafner, Dustin Kinzie, Dougal McMorris, Trey Miller, Paul Nygaard, Ian Rasor, Tukker Toavs, Jarred Williams, Trenton Wemmer, Mechiah Zilkoski, Brady Buckles, Miexel DeWitt, David Hopson and Justin Joe — with The Lorelie.
Swing I (Copenhaver, Sarah Hafner, Wemmer, Kymree Flynn, B. Hafner, T’elle Evans, Kinzie, Hunter Reinhart, Miller, Mikela Smith, Toavs, Katrina Nygaard, Rasor, Alissa Smith, Zilkoski and Sansaver) earned a “I” with Moonglow.
Swing II — Copenhaver, S. Hafner, B. Hafner, Evans, Guldborg, Austin Wortman, Kinzie, Reinhart, Miller, M. Smith, Zilkoski, Sansaver, Solberg, P. Nygaard, Lepper and McMorris — earned a “II” with I’ve Got You Under My Skin.
Swing III (Miller, M. Smith, Kinzie, Reinhart, A. Smith, Rasor, Solberg, P. Nygaard, Wemmer, Flynn, B. Hafner, Evans, Toavs, K. Nygaard, Guldborg and Wortman) performed The Shadow of Your Smile and earned a “II.”
The Women of Swing’s Hold On earned Evans, Flynn, S. Hafner, Lepper, K. Nygaard, Reinhart, Sansaver, A. Smith, M. Smith, Solberg and Wortman a “I” rating.
The Men of Swing’s Longest Time earned Copenhaver, Guldborg, B. Hafner, Kinzie, McMorris, Miller, P. Nygaard, Rasor, Toavs, Williams, Wemmer, Zilkoski and Buckles a “II” rating.
Wolf Point Mixed’s Cold Wind Blows earned them a “I” rating. Performing with Wolf Point Mixed were Flynn, Erin Presser, Evans, Carry Vandall, Kylie Wells, K. Nygaard, Sansaver, S. Hafner, Solberg, Taylor Carey, Williams, Buckles, Zilkoski, Toavs and DeWitt.
B. Hafner, Miller, Toavs, Guldborg, Kinzie and Rasor performed in an Irish Ensemble and earned a “I” on their rendition of Loch Lomond.
The Ladies Ensemble of Vandall, Presser, Kaylie Williamson, Wells, Thea Smith and Danielle Vermette earned a “I” with Looking Glass River.
The Jazz Band earned a “II” on Cold Duck Time and the Drum Line earned a “I” on Jaguar. Performing on the drum line were Daryl LittleHead, Rasor, Dakota Robinson, Joe Whitright, Ikaika Edmundson, Zilkoski and Guldborg.
Buckles and Williams earned a “I” on Solitary Snowflake; Reinhart and Rasor, “I,” Nora’s Dove; Reinhart and M. Smith, “I,” Danza; Smith Sisters, “I,” Laudamus; Williamson, “I,” Sea Meets Sky; Wortman, “II,” Se Florindo; Presser, “II,” Lass; Rasor, “I,” Caro Mio Ben; Trio of Reinhart, A. Smith and M. Smith, “I,” The Violet; Miller, “I,” Arietta and Allegro; Vermette, “II,” Don Giovanni; A. Smith, “I,” Ouvre Tes Yeux Bleu; Reinhart, “I,” Pieta, Signore; and M. Smith, “I,” Les Berceaux.
